Dear Moonrise Kingdom,
You marvellous, whimsical, gorgeous beast. How delightful it was to watch the love story of bewitching Suzy Bishop and brave Sam Shakusksy unfurl before me last night. Wes Anderson is some g-damn genius, that’s for sugar.
I loved every single thing about this film, in particular Jason Scwartzman’s cameo, the wonderful array of ’60s sunglasses worn, and the plot and characters and music and setting and cast and costumes.
I must say, Moonrise Kingdom, I have not felt so inspired by a piece of art for a long time.
Also I have not felt this inspired to wear heavy kohl and turquoise eye shadow for a long time. Or ever.
